Loan schemes offered by May & Baker cooperative society provide members with access to credit for various purposes, including business expansion, education, housing and personal needs. These loan schemes are designed to meet the financial needs of members in a manner that is fair, transparent, and supportive of their economic well-being.
The May & Baker Staff Thrift and Credit Society Limited commenced operations in 1982 with registration number 99999 of 11th January 1989 under Section10 of Cooperatives Societies Laws, Cap. 29 Laws of Lagos State, 1973. The activities of the Society were members who are spread all over the states of the federations was coordinated through the Secretariat in Lagos. It was re-registered as the May & Baker Staff Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited, by the Registrar of Co-operatives Abuja, on 29th October 1997 with registration number 1001. The Secretariat of the Society thus moved from Lagos to Abuja.
May & Baker CMS is not a subsidiary of the May & Baker, but it is a corporate body jointly owned by its members comprising serving May & Baker Staff, Pensioners, and Retirees. The Society as a corporate body is quite distinct from the owners; can sue and be sued and can own property in its name and as approved by the Co-operative Act/Regulations.
